For the next time you feel like yapping: I’m about halfway through the gotg game and I would LOVE to hear your opinions on it

this is a REALLY good prompt and i could be here all fucking day discussing every aspect of it and also that i the studio that made it and thief 4 is NOT as bad as everyone thinks it is and they have every right to be proud of it but thats a massive tangent and i havent even started yet. i love thief. garrett i miss you every day. anyway.

the gotg game actually has my fav interpretations of most of the guardians too which surprised me. im assuming ud wanna mostly hear my thoughts on the story stuff anyway even tho i am umm. an action game snob and i have a lot to say abt that stuff too cz its just a fantastic game and it was on my radar long before i actually got into gotg coz the reviews were like 'yo this is a great action game' and im like oooooohhh wiggles my fingers. anyway.

ok this um. turned out really fucking long coz i got wrapped up talking abt magus meta stuff again so. grins. 3k words long. the magus stuff is past the spoiler break bt its. kind of tied to what i was talking abt w the game version so. shrugs

game mantis is BY FAR my fav version of her its like the perfect fusion of her comic appearances in early gotg and the movie version. i like the comic ver bt she can b a little overly serious and i think the shift to make her more light hearted and fun was a good one. like how they changed peter to be a music guy and a tad sillier. i think it fits. and while i do actually like her mcu version its also like. too silly. mcu forgets that shes also like actually very wise and in tune w emotions and how other ppl think, and also a badass martial artist. right. game mantis gets to be all of those things at once. also shoutout to her voice actor for doing an awesome job.

draxxx.... im honestly still not sure if i prefer alien drax or mr douglas drax. if moondragon is around then i def want mr douglas. bt if shes not then its like... no harm done...? not much to say here other than that i do love tht everyone indulges him. thats like the big thing abt the game for me. the banter is sooo good, they playfully rib each other like friends do but u can tell they genuinely care abt each other just from the way theyre willing to go along w each others weird habits or unfamiliar culture stuff. so from that angle i rly like how they did drax, and his talk w peter in knowhere... ToT a problem w drax is also that i think too many things treat him as a joke to be laughed at for being weird and the game neatly sidesteps that by giving u both but making it clear that hes still a character w depth.

i have no big thoughts on rocket honestly aside from that i dont like the little goatee thing bt im also not a huge rocket fan so my opinion is worth little here lol. i liked him. fr me my big rocket things r like. his relationship w peter and groot and i loved both of those so i have zero complaints. the ongoing 'my ship' thing w peter was so well done compared to when its done in the comics LOL.

groot i just liked a lot its also my fav version of groot i think cz its so obvious how kind and sweet he is. bt so much of groot is like. dependent on rocket to help translate. that SAIDDD i love the convo sm later on when rocket+groot+mantis were all talking together and peter had no idea wht they were laughing at. wish there was a lil more of that bt theres soooooo much dialogue in the game already tht asking for more is so unfair. bt more mantis+groot would be cute. my fav groot is the one whos sooooo sweet bt also says slurs and has rocket being like YOU CANT BE SAYING THAT BUDDY. anyway ik a big part of him is also in the voice acting cz its like the Tone of how he says stuff since u cant understand him and i think the voice actor did soooo good at that. and then the little bits of physical acting too like when hes messing w the controls. i cant say too much coz u havent finished it yet ToT

gamora is where i have some issues bt its mostly coz im married to her old look+personality and dont like the newer depictions as much. in the game she comes off as rly young esp w the dyed hair and it doesnt rly fit my own view of her? as a more mature woman. one tht knows how to have fun and has a confidence tht comes with experience and doesnt rly get embarrassed abt herself or anything. so this gamora is just. different. i dont think its bad bt it doesnt mesh w my own view i guess. despite not being a huge gamora fan i have a lot of thoughts abt her esp w the way it crosses over w the magus stuff. shes a very inch resting char... i wanted to do my own outfit design fr her too bt never got around to it... coz thats my other gripe w game gamora. her outfit is so boring... ik its based on a comic look cz i read that run but i didnt like it there either. i feel like they can never decide on a good look for her at all. they either want her sexed up or not at all to the point that the outfits lose all sense of personality or flair and are just. overly practical and boring. which doesnt fit the her thats confident and likes playing w ppl. so yea. shrug on that one. as an isolated thing i like her but compared to everything else shes ever been, not so much. basically.

i actually wrote the rest of this totally forgetting to talk abt peter. i dont know what to say. abt myself for that. peter quill. i like him. u may have noticed i draw him in his game outfit like a Lot and its bcoz i ADOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE it. SOOOO CUTE. i also like his game guns the best! the white+grey+pink just looks soooo good. hes soooo sillycute in the game i luv himmmmmmmm. bt honestly game peter is a lot like other interpretations of him! not a whole lot to say. peter kind of has a pretty locked in characterisation by now right. this is still one of my absolute fav versions tho in design and personality. i think hes had better hair bt the outfit. chef kiss. and im always a sucker for a more immature peter, like the cartoon version too tho that can take it a little too far sometimes bt it meshes well w the baby adam so idm too much bt thats a whole tangent again. peter is good coz hes stupid immature loser idiot but he Cares so genuinely and so much and always tries to do the right thing and it rly rly rly rly shows in this. even when he knows he cant rly affect much or do a whole lot. its abt the Trying. i cant say more coz of spoilers but my god does it show. they did him well. ALSO THE GAME VERSION OF HIS MUM IS BAR NONE THE BEST EVER THEY WILL NEVER TOP THAT VERSION OF HER SHES SO CUTE

ADAM WARLOCK GUY OF ALL TIME I LOVE YOU. ONE OF MY FAV INTERPRETATIONS OF MAGUS. WE'RE IN THE FUCKING MONEY.

this version of adam is interesting cz hes not usually depicted as like. old and tired already. since he comes out of his cocoon all shiny new. which i love. btw. i cannot lie to u i Love the versions where hes a baby or just forgets everything and has to relearn, its rly endearing. i wish more stuff Did something with it other than the cartoon. bt anyway. tangent.

i love his cocoon in the game i wish u got to see the inside better lol. its like a little house... and so goopy... its just funny cz the game version seems truer to the comics than any other interpretation of him. bt it also feels so different? i like it a lot either way bt its Interesting to me. and im not sure how to word why. in fact i am not sure what else to add hdsfjknsd. other than that i actually dont like his outfit just coz its the same problem as the mcu one as well where its too overly complex and a muddy mess of colours. the game outfit is WAY better than whatever tf the mcu did but its still like. the same concept. too much detail and not enough broad strokes? idk how to word it. like if u take out the tiny details its just sort of. nothingburger. also no lightning symbol stuff anywhere :(

bt ya i love the way he talks and i love what little stuff he got with peter and god i wish there was MORE its so unfair that whenever adam gets to be in gotg stuff hes always just there at the end and never gets to BE with the guardians outside of gotg v2/2008 comic. and the cartoon. bt even then. and it sucks that we wont get a sequel coz that studio is in hell rn! smiles painfully. i wanted to see him bicker abt nothing w peter more... or how theyd actually become friends...

bt the most i have to say here is obvi abt magus and magus+warlock as a duo. which isssss that ok so i have a Thing where i dont generally rly like magus as an actual alt personality? i like it when hes future adam. coz thats The Point. that adam can be the warlock or the magus and all that changes is a. an internal philosophy. or a worldview. they ARE the same person. theyre not separate people. bt if its done well and theyre still intertwined enough i think i can like it the other way too? coz the point is that they could be each other, right. so warlock has the capacity for everything the magus does. the magus has the capacity for everything the warlock does. there isnt a major dividing line between them. i like how the game does it literally because of the ONE bit adam has where he admits that he misses magus. doesnt feel complete or right without it being there. after peter says 'well ur mostly fine without magus now right and u were with it for ages' and adam basically says 'well i feel empty inside and like im missing something huge and i miss it being there but yeah i guess im "mostly fine"'. i WISH we saw warlock+magus interacting properly, like wht is the actual nature of their relationship. they rly dont go into that stuff at all. so i cant rly say much aside from like 'what ifs' and stuff, u know. i wish we saw more... sigh. but i adore magus' design in it and how they tie it to adams original motifs of. well. metamorphosis. adam is a moth caterpillar. so i love that they make magus look like one too! fluffy fuzzy little caterpillar. and just like a caterpillar, its always hungry. and u cannot blame a caterpillar for being hungry, its trying to grow. bah. tangent. bt who cares. i wanted that. an adam that didnt Hate magus, knows it had to be controlled and kept in line bt not one that hated it. if adam missed it, then they mustve had Some kind of relationship. almost all of magus' problems come from wanting recognition and to exist on its own and i think the game had a setup that couldve allowed for that eventually... i want an adam that understands tht magus is a necessary evil and they can work together. "where else could i go, who else could i love but you?" - line that infects anyone who does the dark knight quests in ffxiv but a lot of ppl ignore the fact that this is specifically talking abt another aspect of urself. its abt self love. i want that for warlock and magus. warlock hates himself soooo much and he hates all of his selves and everything he used to be, bt that makes him so unhappy. he needs to learn to accept himself. and magus is a literal representation of all those things. sitting there WANTING to be loved. sigh. thats a big tangent and i have actual comic stuff in case anyone wants proof and u know what why am i stopping myself. here they are

this one could be up for debate on whether reborn magus is the 'same' as the old one but has warlock ever had that concession? not rly so i dont wanna say its different here either. this is a nature vs nurture thing that i also have some shit to say abt bt if im allowing myself ONE huge tangent here i wont go off on another one in the middle of it. actually fuck that i do what i want. and its relevant. coz there is one difference. and thats the actual original magus from the warlock comics by starlin, so actual future self adam. and then the one that spawned when warlock had the infinity gauntlet and he expelled all good and evil from himself, which is when magus became a separate entity entirely. bt also the thing in gotg v2 where he uses a discarded alt timeline that wasnt meant to happen and THAT was the one where he turns into magus so technically the reborn magus is made from the real first one that got deleted?? man idfk. i think there is a degree of separation from the two just coz its like. i dont think we know if the expelled magus experienced w. ok. im gonna call them magus1 (future adam) and magus2 (expelled evil) ok. we dont know if magus2 has the memories of magus1 or any of the actual lived experience because warlock of the main timeline DID NOT turn into magus. magus1 isnt from 616 or whatever. hes an alt version. magus2 should technically be the 616 version. i think. so magus2 could have been that mad simply out of principle of it, which is based and true and totally fair. anyway tangent over sorta. reborn child magus is magus3 and idfk which magus hes technically reincarnating from, probably magus1 since its the timeline that was destroyed tht adam brought back. ok theres a lot. prefacing this by saying ive been a hardcore albedo fan since he first launched and klee was also the only five star i was saving for when i first started the game bc. yeah. so finding out they were siblings was Big for me and made me love them even more. i like. Dug into furniture descriptions, item descriptions, weapons, etc for them and their family (including alice, rhine, and any of rhines other creations) for Years.

basically: i was heavily fixated on her.

spoilers for simulanka and paralogism and below.

ok now in game backstory:

simulanka:

genshin had an event during the summer called simulanka, a fairy tale land made by the hexenzirkel so that another version of durin (mini durin) could get a second chance. primary cast for this event: traveler, paimon, kirara, navia, scaramouche.

we get some more insight on durin being misunderstood and hurt bc he was physically incapable of going towards mondstadt. we also learn that durin will one day come back to life.

this event parallels mini durin to scaramouche bc of their feelings towards their mothers abandonment (through death or ei’s attempt at liberation), guilt over living, loneliness, and villainy. oh this event Also adds a bit to my klee and durin parallels which makes me sick i have a post abt it somewhere anyways. mini durin left simulanka and lives w scara i believe.

NOW MY PROBLEM W THIS. is that towards the end, they start? acting like scara is the most important person to durin?????? for some fuckass reason? like theres an afterword where albedo and scara Do meet and discuss actual durin and albedo says that irl durin’s fate and scara’s fate are now tied. which is absolutely crazy to make ALBEDO (the character who hs the most to do w durin) say but lol. ive already talked at length abt why i dont like this decision but

tldr: their relationship and this connection serves scara way more than it serves durin. if it Had to be an unequal relationship, it Should’ve been w albedo. like ut makes the most sense from both a logical and artistic standpoint.

paralogism:

quest starts off w traveler coming to mondstadt for windblume (festival for a thousand winds where you offer flowers to barbatos and your loved ones). traveler is then summoned to jean’s office where theyre like heyyyy sooo albedos on trial can upu come with us to the court? and travelers like …. yeah. we learn albedo is being accused of murder by hertha bc he was seen burying remains, though when dug up, nothing was found except for clothes and some bones. he’s sentenced as guilty bc of a letter that, when put together w the witness accounts, imply he was abducting humans and using them in morally dubious alchemical experiments. albedo is mostly quiet throughout the trial. he Does demand a retrial though and that goes through. between the time of the first trial and the retrial, traveler goes to albedo’s office and searches for evidence, at jean’s request. they find a secret compartment with maps marked w the locations witnesses saw him burying a body AND a third location that was unaccounted for. traveler goes there and finds an empty hole with worn claw marks.

during the retrial, traveler presents the fact that the MO w the first two locations and the third dont add up and albedo brings up primordial albedo (aka subject 2/dorian). albedo claims her innocence, saying she never killed a person but he Did bury things in those locations and she Did kill someone in dragonspine, that someone being subject 2. she reveals she buried him and subject 2’s body was dug up and fed to durin. then things go to hell bc a second hertha enters the room, revealing that the hertha accusing albedo of murder was actually a synthetic human and oh no actually theres more synthetic humans around them. ok so fake hertha is actually the core and all the others are somehwat her whim it seems?????? its a bit vague. anyways we find out this entire trial was a ruse the knights planned to lure out the imposters and we learn that it wasnt Just hertha but a large amount of civilians who’d been replaced by synthetic humans and now a bunch of monsters are attacking mond.

the synthetic humans were sourced from durin, who grew jealous and spiteful after absorbing subject 2’s being and learning abt albedo. he wants to take albedos place. albedo’s plan is to basically kill durin and resurrect him into a new form, using mini durin from simulanka, who expressed interest in taking on a human form. she’s hoping that this durin won’t take on actual durin’s evilness and would take more of mini durin’s desires and pureness. albedo passes trails by the hexenzirkel, gets permission and materials, and gives mini durin a human form. he. kinda looks like kosma from what we’ve seen lmao anyways. quest ends w albedo dropping huge lore drops abt 1. rhine leaving him there so that he could find a life of his own and make human connection (which he finds in his family) 2. RHINE FUCKING FUSED WITH THE RULER OF LIFE WHAT THE FUCK????????????????????????

also a bunch of ppl know albedo’s a homunculus now. a bunch of ppl also know venti is barbatos.

we got lil cameos if ofger characters and fhat was really cute :’) it makes the world feel so much more lived in i like that a lot.

they made klee’s skill do 40k per jump.

i like the dynamic they introduced w dahlia and venti. dahlia is the deacon of the church and knows venti’s identity. he teases him abt it its honestly sweet even if it kinda came out of nowhere 😭😭

the big cutscene was gorgeous oh my godddddddddd it was beautiful.

ok now cons:

pacing was…..interesting to say the least. it was strange i get that we’re supposed to be traveler, but the way they jaist drop us in the middle of it felt really weird i feel like genshin just kinda shot itself in the foot by limiting us to Only traveler in this particular case.

kinda sucks that they just so readily shared the fact that albedo is a homunculus w everyone thats so boring give me drama i want drama. why didnt they do anything w kaeya and khaenri’ah.

it also makes the fact that the trial was fake even more :1 to me bc. idk i Wanted them to be more ballsy w it i guess? i mean i guess they already did that w childe in fontaine but like. yk. fontaine trials gave me Drama and Stakes.

THERE NEEDED TO BE MORE KLEE. ok if you havent read my word dump abt klee, she’s increidbly important to albedos story in particular i dont understand why they barely utilized her bc imo, the emotional fulfillment would’ve been worth so much more than the logistical (doylestinian) fulfillment of keeping her away.

the way durin was characterized was really weird to me? i dont get them constantly emphasizing how evil he is when we Know for a fact that he was misguided and thought he was playing when he wrecked havoc on mondstadt (festering desire description). like.. that was The point w simulanka too. and the jealousy over albedo felt oht of place for me. i think they were trying to do a “oh those are feelings he absorbed from subject 2” but that feels sloppy to me when 1. durin is his own character lmao. 2. you would think durin’s own feelings would surpass subject 2’s considering he’s way more powerful and yk. a million times larger. 3. artistically, wouldn’t this just make this story way too similar w shadows amidst snowstorms??????? i feel like it wouldve been a million times more poignant to Not do that and actually go w the corruption thing theyve been hinting at.

spekaing of the corruption thing, WHY WASNT ALBEDO CORRUPTED😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 THEY PUT THAT LINE IN HER STORY QUEST ABD JUST DIDNT FOLLOW UP?????????????????????? i need to have a word with their writers what the fuck

i also have a lot of mixed feelings on the durin turning human thing but i fear i cant be As objective w this as everything else bc im not the biggest fan of mini durin as a result of simulanka kfjdjendj. like narratively i guess it would be a full circle moment for albedo to match rhine in her feats but also????????? what about for durin. yk. like durin Is a tragedy and i much preferred him dead bc of that. theres a line in cinnabar spindle where rhine wishes for albedo to surpass herself and her other creations and i feel like that would be a million times more poignant if albedo was the only rhine creation with a life yk. (life as in like. living rather than existing.)

speaking of mini durin though, idk man. i have no idea how to feel i have very mixed feelings abt it and its partially bc im still sour from simulanka and partially bc?????????????????i just dont really get why narratively they would do that. scream. i have tjoughts on mini durin if you cant tell. i like him in comcept but i also think the themes wouldve been stronger had he not been real.

the random subject 2 erasure was out of nowhere to me bc didnt we have that cutscene w another albedo watching over the actual albedo in the shadows amidst smowstorms event am i crazy. it just feels really weird for albedo to kill him off camera and then they only bring it up now.

where tf was klee im so serious. im putting it again i dont get how you can have an albedo quest abt family and Not have klee play an important role esp when we KNOW she’s a foil to those w fucked up families. theres literally a line in a previous event where kaeya essentially says klee heals those w broken families w/o even knowing it. like……. WHERE WAS SHE. she’s important wnough that they activeky kept her leitmotif in albedo’s theme but they wont give her more than 5 lines???? idk dont get why they used her so sparingly bc we got her mom here why isnt She there. and alice is literally using dodoco as a form come on???? klee shouldve been there. in my head i would rather klee and albedo be the one to do the trial but #whatever. they couldve been so devastating.

just. overall kinda feels like they were playing it safe which kinda sucks bc i really wanted them to be ballsy w this in a way that fit the characters. yk i didn’t actually think they would kill anyone bc that would fuck up the genshin format but like. give me more risk the conclusion just kinda feels unearned i guess??

hmmmm...shes not weak to bugs or rodents (she wouldnt go out of her way to play with rats but she wouldnt gaf about picking up a dead mouse to throw it outside if she found one), and i think she has a pretty good tolerance for movie-gore and body horror, but hmmm. real life injury i suppose, shes not good with pain. she hates pain! this is not a unique trait since ..everyone hates pain. but its true. heights make her stomach hurt too lol. so if you want to make her throw up, dangle her over a deep pit and punch her in the stomach 10000 times

Ive already rated Sayid ships but-

Jack, Desmond, Hurley, Ben, Kate, Rousseau, Nadia... Im a notorious multishipper. I do think Kate, Rousseau, and Nadias (Kate not being even a little moved by Sayid in the temple, Rousseaus last scene with Sayid being her working with Locke against him, Nadia... I mean.. COME ON.) relationships with Sayid were kinda randomly dropped but based on everything I still think theyre pretty great.

(I might get flack for not having Shannon in my top Sayid ships but thats the writers fault. They had a less than 30 day relationship where Sayid did exactly what Boone said Shannon wanted him to do for her... which was take care of her. I dont think their relationship coulda worked given how they are in the time we have with them. I dont buy that their relationship would last off the island...

If youre gonna be a canon ship ya need to step up your game. Shannon/Sayid aint no Jin/Sun... they are just not on the same level. I decided to fill out a list of questions to flesh out Rollo and Yuuyas relationship more than I already have and it got uhhhhh a little long !!! So the entirety of it has been placed courteously under the cut 🙂‍↕️ (linked is the original list of questions)

1. What were their first impressions of one another?

Rollos first impression of Yuuya was lumped into his general first impression of the rest of the Yuus - that being pity for them due to their enrollment at NRC. In terms of his initial impression of Yuuya specifically, it was a mix of amusement and distaste. Yuuya generally spoke the more scathing thoughts that Rollo kept to himself which is part of what drew Rollo to him, but at the same time Rollo wasnt exactly fond of how volatile Yuuya could be at times. When Yuuya revealed that he at least partially shared his views regarding magic (albeit to a MUCH lesser extent that stayed at mere irritation) Rollos view of Yuuya started to become more positive and something specific to him rather than just a collective opinion of the Yuus or the NRC students.

Yuuya first viewed Rollo in a neutral bordering on negative light, similar to how he initially views basically everyone. In general people need to earn him liking him rather than needing to earn him disliking them, and Rollo was no exception to that. The first time they speak one on one is when Yuuyas view of Rollo miraculously tends to grow more positive, mostly as a result of Rollo seemingly sharing Yuuyas distaste of some mages tendency to flaunt and show off their magic (though Yuuya of course wasnt aware of how deep that distate actually went on Rollos end).

2 .What was their first date like? If they haven't been on a date yet, how would it go?

Their first date was to a cafe in Fleur City that Rollo personally recommended. This was the first time post-GloMas that Yuuya visited Rollo and Fleur City in person, and as such he decided to give Rollo freedom in where their date would be as Rollo naturally knew the city much better than Yuuya did.

3. It's late at night and your characters want food, what do they order/find in the fridge?

Especially if they were at Ramshackle, small snacks made by Yuukimi tbh,,, they coul either be pre-made lunches/meals or smaller things

4. What's a typical Sunday like for them?

On their typical Sunday they're not with eachother in person, but if they were with eachother they would likely find a small, quiet spot to spend the day together if Rollo had no student council duties and Yuuya had no one demanding he do anytbing for them.

5. What's their love language like? Are they compatible with one another?

Rollos main love language is acts of service and Yuuyas is quality time. This is mostly in terms of their preferred ways of showing love, but in terms of how they prefer to recieve love then Rollos wpuld be words of affirmation and Yuuyas would be acts of service. I would say that they were combatible for this, especially in terms of how Rollos giving and Yuuyas recieving are both acts of service.

6. Do they have any pet names/nicknames for eachother?

Neither of them are exactly fond of typical petnames, Rollo much less so than Yuuya. If they were to directly refer to eachother 9/10 times it would purely be by name, especially when they were in public. When they write letters to eachother they add more typically romantic titles to address the other (my love, dearest, more traditional stuff like that). Even when theyre joking (or when Yuuya is joking, Rollo doesnt really joke around) they wouldnt use needlessly cheesy or embarrassing petnames.

7. What do they argue about?

A major source of conflict between the two is how Rollo tends to be needlessly protective over Yuuya in terms of his perceived safety at NRC. While Rollo may not realize how it comes across and believes he's just looking out for Yuuya (especially as someone he genuinely cares about), this irritates Yuuya since he thinks its dismissing his ability and capability to look out for himself.

8. Who does what chores, and why?

Rollos hobby is literally cleaning so i feel like he would assign most of it to himself whether Yuuya agreed or not (he honestly doesn't mind tbh). Yuuya isn't just deadweight and will obviously chip in and help out, but Rollo is entirely willing to do the brunt of it.

9. What's the most difficult thing they've been through together?

The whole uhhhhh Rollo trying to permanently erase magic thing was pretty difficult I think !!

10. How do they make up after a fight?

They're both the type to hold grudges and stick stubbornly to their own perceptions so itd be pretty rough if they did have a huge argument i fear,,, Rollo would be more likely to apologize for the sake of resolving an argument, though thats after a bit of letting it settle in his mind.

11. Who causes the most arguments?

Neither of them really cause arguments per se, but as stated before some of Rollos behavior towards Yuuya can cause disagreements between them. However it's not because they WANT to cause arguments.

12. What would they say each other's worst quality is?

Rollo would say that Yuuyas most irritating quality is how dismissive he can be. This leads to him not taking certain things as seriously as he should, which for someone like Rollo who tends to take EVERYTHING seriously is a trait hes not exactly fond of.

Yuuyas least favorite quality in Rollo is ironically how closed off he is. This might seem hypocritical for someone as emotionally reserved as Yuuya is, but he takes more of an issue when he thinks Rollo is hiding things from him. He views his own more closed off nature as less of him hiding things from other people and instead just him being himself if that makes sense (i.e its not him going out of his way to be closed off, its just a natural part of his personality). He understands not sharing everything about yourself with other people, but he expects at least a bit more transparency than what Rollo tends to have in their relationship.

13. What would they say each other's best quality is?

Rollo most admires Yuuyas independence and how self-sufficient he is. He views Yuuyas responsibility as a a breath of fresh air compared to most of the people he has to deal with in his day-to-day.

Yuuya most admires how steadfast Rollo is. He loves how unwavering Rollo is in his ideals and how he doesn't let other people's opinions dictate his own.

14. How would they describe one another if asked?

Rollo would describe Yuuya as an incredibly well grounded and realistic person. While he's very aware of Yuuyas shortcomings, he is also just as aware of his positive traits as well and values them greatly. The (many) flaws that Yuuya does have arent dealbreakers for Rollo and are instead just a part of Yuuya that he embraces the same as any other.

Yuuya would describe Rollo as someone who is doing his best despite the cards his life has dealt him. He doesnt endorse or agree with all of Rollos actions, but he does still recognize that Rollo was put into a position that wouldnt be easy for anyone to deal with.

15. What names are they saved as on each other's phone?

Rollo has Yuuya saved as ‘my love’ in his phone and he cringes every time he sees it because he views it as excessive, but he can't bring himself to change it to anything else.

Yuuya has Rollo saved as ‘Rollo ♡’, not of his own doing but because of Yuuzuki changing it for him. Same as Rollo, he cant bring himself to change it.

16. What would they consider quality time?

They wpuld consider quality time to be anytime they can spend time focused on eachother without external interruptions or disctractions, which is frankly a rarity for both of them.

17. Who decides which movies to watch?

Yuuya methinks 🙂‍↕️ Rollo rarely has the time to just sit down and watch movies in his free time so he doesn't really have any tried and true favorites to recommend, so he often just let's Yuuya decide.

18. How are they like on a road trip together?

Yuuya is the driver fr !!! Since he canonically has his license and I can't really imagine Rollo driving for some reason. He fs has his license and is able to drive, it just isn't clicking in my brain. They're fine sitting in silence or engaging in basic conversation for the duration, without the need for much else to entertain them (Rollo sleeps in the car methinks because just being near Yuuya makes it easier for him to sleep more soundly,,,)

19. It's raining, did either of your OCs bring an umbrella? If so, who, and do they share it?

Despite Rollo being very careful in regards to his image, he does tend to neglect small things and would probably forget to bring an umbrella with him sometimes, even though he very much is able to combat the rain with magic to keep him dry. Yuuya would so let him share his umbrella though, and tbh the close proximity would be nice too !!

20. What are they like when sharing a bed?

The first time they sleep in the same bed they both sleep without touching on either side of the bed just for their own comfort. After they get more used to it they start to sleep closer together, most often with Rollo on his back and Yuuyas head on his shoulder.

21. Who is better at games? Does the loser take it graciously?

In terms of video games Yuuya is VERY much better. Rollo is better at strategy based board games like chess. Both of them hate losing but try their best to play it off to varying degrees of success

22. Do they ever share clothes?

I do notttt think so tbh !! They have very different tastes in fashion and prefer just wearing their own clothes in general

23. Your OCs are on a trip and there's only one bed! What do they do?

Rollo is the first to offer the bed to Yuuya (because he already doesn't have an easy time falling and staying asleep, so Yuuya would probably get more out of actually using the bed), but they would just end up sharing the bed after a while of going back and forth on it.

24. What do your characters think about marriage? Are they for or against it?

They would ABSOLUTELY want to get married in the future if possible, but they don't view it as a required step in their relationship. However they both agree that its too early for them to think about that at the moment

25. Pick a physical attribute that they love about each other.

Rollo loves Yuuyas eyes, whether it be their color, the shape of them, his eyelashes, literally anything about his eyes. Yuuya tends to have a really sharp gaze most of the time, but when hes with Rollo his entire expression tends to soften. That softer expression is something Rollo thinks he could never forget or stop thinking about.

Yuuya loves Rollos hands. Rollo is relatively expressive despite his best attempts to keep it under wraps, but that's mostly in terms of his facial expressions. His hands tend to give away a lot that his face migjt not, and Yuuya finds himself often looking down at them whenever they hold hands

26. Do any of them have bad habits that the other can't stand?

The answer for 12 (which traits they dislike in the other) covers this too

27. Who is more down to earth?

Hands down Rollo. While they are both pretty straightforward, Rollo tends to come across as more of an impartial voice than Yuuya does.

28. Are they affectionate in public? Is it too much?

Neither of them are super into PDA. They will walk/sit close to eachother or hold hands, but neither of them feel comfortable with doing much more in public.

29. How are they affectionate in private?

Theyre more affectionate in private as opposed to in public, but most of it is through non-physical means. When they do show physical affection its mostly through Yuuya initiating it.

30. How does your OC react to being broken up with?

I don't want to think about this tbh !!!

They didn't fall in love easily, but they did become interested in eachother in general sense pretty fast.

Yuuya tried to keep his feelings to himself at first due to a discomfort in having to actively confront such an unfamiliar feeling. There was no big confession, but Yuuya was the first to bring up the idea of their relationship becoming romantic.

Rollo was the first to say it through one of their letters and the first to say it in person.

Both LMAO, they're both incredibly set in their ways and very much stick to their own opinions. Rollo maybe slightly more so though,,,

Yuuya probably first realized in while talking to Yuukimi after bringing up Rollo unprompted for like the third time in that single conversation, maybe after she pointed that fact out. That realization made him go ‘oh fuck, i like him dont i’

Rollo likely realized all of a sudden in the middle of the night when he was trying to sleep. The type of realization where it makes you shoot up and start pacing back and forth in the middle of the room FJSJD

36. How long have they been friends?

Would they consider each other best friends?

All things considered they didn't know eachother that long before they started to gain romantic feelings for eachother. While Yuuya is the closest person to Rollo both before and after they started dating, Rollo wouldnt have chosen to describe that as them being ‘best friends’, even if that's basically what they were

37. How did they become friends?

Through Glomas!! They started talking more extensively during the Ball that took place the last nigjt Yuuya was in Fleur City after Yuuya approached him

38. Who's more ticklish?

Man idk

39. If your OCs has/had a child, who would be the stricter parent?

Children are not in their future, but Rollo wpuld be tbh,,,

40. What do they do when they miss one another? Is one more needy than the other/s?

THEY SUFFER !!!!! Yuuya gets in such a bad mood when hes missing Rollo tooo bad and it makes most people hate being around him even more, as much as the GloMas group hate Rollo and the fact that Yuuya is close to him, they hate Yuuya when hes not with Rollo as well and will put up with being in Rollos general vicinity as long as it means Yuuya is in a better mood,,, only sligjtly though,,,

Rollo gets more easily distracted when he misses Yuuya, since his thoughts tend to keep going back to him. This is decently noticeable to other people since its so odd for someone like Rollo, but they at least dont mention it to his face

41. What green flags do they have for one another?

Rollos main green flag to Yuuya is his patience and self control. He tends to think all of his decisions through and almost never acts on impulse, which Yuuya VERY MUCH appreciates especially considering how impulsive and reckless some of his peers (Ace.) can be.

Yuuyas main green flag to Rollo is his ability to speak his mind without trying to appeal to anyone else. While he rarely needs a second voice to help rationalize his thoughts, on the off chance he does Yuuya is the first person he thinks to go to.

42. Have they ever been jealous?

Yuuya honestly isnt the jealous type. Hes pretty secure in his relationships and only tries to grow close with people who he KNOWS won't try to backstab him or suddenly drop him. Especially in regards to his relationship with Rollo, he knows basically for a fact rhat Rollo is just as dedicated to him as he is to Rollo.

Rollo gets jealous more easily than Yuuya, but its not something he projects onto Yuuya or blames him for. He doesnt get jealous over the idea of Yuuya having friends or other close relationships oitside of their own - if anything hes jealous of the idea that NRC students get to be around Yuuya every day while he only gets to see Yuuya occasionally.

They are both pretty introverted, though Rollo is more comfortable with being around other people. This is mostly in terms of him being around non-mages, as shown in his vignette. Yuuya dislikes being around most people and will absolutely make it known, and he prefers to spend as much time as possible either on his own or with a VERY small, specific amount of people.

44. Who's the better cook?

Yuuya tbh,,, Rollo wouldnt be horrible but I just can't really see him being an AMAZING cook. Yuuya had to learn to cook for himself to an extent as a result of his parents very frequent absences throughout his childhood, so hes more proficient in the kitchen than Rollo is.

45. Are they good at comforting one another? Does someone hide their feelings usually?

ERMMMM !!!! They are both pretty emotionally inept i fear !! Theyre both people who were forced to grow up too fast and rely pretty much entirely on themselves and this reflects in their ability to show vulnerability to eacbother, but they're growing and healing together trust,,, even if it's a slow process. Rollo is better at comforting Yuuya rather than the other way around, since he seems like the type who's good at giving advice and whatnot to other people rather than taking it himself.

Yuuya made the first move in terms of taking their relationship from platonic to romantic, however some notable events in their relationship (first time saying ‘I love you’, first one to ask the other out on a date, etc) were initiated by Rollo. Their first kiss (AUFJSJJDJSJD) was a result of both of them though

YES !!! Rollo and the yuus 4ever !!!! Rollo gets on especially well with Yuukimi and they eventually grew to basically be siblings even outside of their technical ‘inlaw’ status. Yuuya is yet to meet Rollos parents as of this point in the twst timeline, but trustttt they have heard about him and are very happy that Rollo has found someone who genuinely makes him happy

49. Do they tease each other? What about?

Rollo almost never teases Yuuya, and when he does it's moreso just dry sarcastic statements (even if its not the intended effect on Rollos end this pretty much always gets Yuuya a bit flustered internally because of how unexpected it is,,,)

The basically inevitable fact that Yuuya will eventually have to leave Twisted Wonderland (and by extension Rollo) for good is something that scares the both of them. Yuuya is torn between wanting to stay with Rollo for the rest of his life and wanting to return to his original home outside of the Yuus and Ramshackle. Rollo is torn between wanting Yuuya to stay with him and wanting Yuuya to go back to a world that in Rollos eyes is ideal and best/safest for him (aka a world with no magic)

One thing I adore about the movie is that this is truly a love triangle where all parties have incredible tension with each other. With Patrick and Tashi, it's already set up as a rivalry with how he's shocked she isn't going pro and choosing college instead. Meanwhile, imho, Art represents the "safe choice" for both Tashi and Patrick since we see how he tends to follow their leads. Patrick wants to check out the girls' tennis, he wants to go to the party afterwards, and he actively pursues Tashi with Art not being as open or loud compared to his bestie.

But then we see that while Tashi is okay with not being a homewrecker, as her career and love for the game come 1st, we see that Art is jealous of PatrickTashi relationship but he is more focused on Patrick (mentioning that Patrick's still together with Tashi, most of their tension isn't actually centered around Tashi but b/n Patrick and Art)

I'd say more but then this ask would be hella long lol. I do wonder how many almost kisses the boys might've had pre-Tashi and if they ever wondered what could've been if they hadn't gone for the same girl/Patrick choosing Tashi post almost threesome in the hotel room.

I too am an avid fan of the biblically accurate love triangle. It is one of the best parts (and the literal backbone) of this movie. Like for me, this movie only works because of how strong each point of the triangle is (in relation to their tensions w one another)

I do love the idea that our baby Art is the “safe choice” but mostly because he is the most compliant only to a degree tho cuz we see that kitty’s got claws the instant he picks up he’s being left out. I think Art as safety net only exists as long as he is part of the equation in the first place.

I don’t necessarily think Tashi is a homewrecker but I think she was the first person to ever be perceived as a “threat” to the ArtPatrick relationship. Because prior to this, Patrick is so blasé about other girls so Art doesn’t care, until he does then he has to compete with tennis AND Tashi for Patrick’s attention.

Also, I like to think their compliance goes both ways because Patrick brings up Tashi to Art, he offers her as a choice and waits for Art to decide. They both implicitly ask each other for permission (only Patrick is much louder and therefore more obvious).

I think in a way Tashi was necessary. Neither of them were willing to make the first move with each other both blind as fuck and probably scared to lose their friendship but Tashi clocked that shit immediately. In a way she gave them permission to just forget everything and just be, they somehow felt safe with her (which is wild cuz THEY JUST MET???)

I am in between the idea that they either have had one kiss (during the first time they jerk off or after) or hook up on the reg to let off some steam and have a sort of understanding that feelings cannot be involved (they are theyre very dumb)

I personally think it’s not that nowadays Lando cares about Carlos less than Carlos does about him, I think it’s more about him getting fed up with repeated questions about his friendships with other drivers and with Carlos in particular, and actual journalists using these cringe words like ‘bromance’ and stuff, it’s annoying as fuck. i think u can rly see this when u compare what they both said abt singapore. lando, assuming carlos's racer brain works like his, says in all his interviews that carlos wouldve just done that for anyone and it doesnt make any difference that its them two. meanwhile, carlos fully explicitly says that he finds it more special bc he and lando were cooperating & managed to get a 1-2. that kind of clearly shows a difference in mindset beyond lando just not wanting to play the media game

abt what i meant saying carlos is a more caring person, in their relationship particularly - i just think hes always been rly attentive towards lando and has just like kinda kept doing it even after he moved teams. i rmbr watching their presser together a few months ago where carlos was being sooo delicate abt lando clearly being worse at golf bc he hadnt played in a while, & it rly reminded me of their dynamic back when they were teammates - while landos always found carlos funny and respected him as a racer, carlos was the one actively attentive to landos mood swings, self criticism, anxiety, etc. i think seeing lando at his (self-described) worst in terms of mental state has made carlos always harbour a sort of protectiveness towards him that lando cant and also isnt expected to reciprocate.

nina's thoughts on Touhou 15 - Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom

Legacy of Duelist Kingdom features Yugi and the boys back at it again to defeat Pegasus! wait, thats not right… Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom features Reimu and the girls back at it again to defeat... somebody! LoLK is a very unique entry, having one of the biggest new 'gimmicks' of any of the touhous ive played so far.

LoLK's big new feature is a completely new way to play the game, the exciting PointDevice mode! (really just rolls off the tongue). as opposed to the standard touhou gameplay loop (which this game does have as well, under the name Legacy mode) PointDevice mode makes the game play sorta like doing a tool-assisted speedrun, apparently being inspired by I Wanna Be The Guy. in PointDevice mode, lives are removed, so if you get hit you're out, but as a tradeoff the game is filled with numerous checkpoints that you can infinitely continue from, for example pretty much every individual spellcard/phase of a boss is a unique checkpoint. this basically means you have infinite tries for every single spellcard but you HAVE to do each one no-hit (you get bombs to ocassionally cheat, but not very many and they never refresh since you never actually die).

this sounds like it would make the game super easy since you can just infinitely practice every section until you get it right, and you would be correct! unfortunately, ZUN was aware this made things easier, so the general difficulty of patterns and enemy spawns was jacked WAY up. i… really do not like this compromise. spellcards move way faster now and often require far greater perfection than usual once you get to the lategame, with multiple regular spellcards being pure survival sections where the boss is invincible, things usually reserved for climactic final phases. theres also a much higher amount of 'jumpscare' spellcards that suddenly kill you if you don't already know theyre coming, which in a normal run would be complete bs, only being justified here since you can just go again. ZUN definitely succeeded in making it feel like I Wanna Be The Guy, but thats not the kind of game i want to play. getting wiped by BS spellcards and having to do them over and over again got me genuinely mad at times, which has happened a few times in previous entries but it was typically me being mad at myself for screwing up, not being mad at the game itself like this one made me.

besides that, the gameplay is mostly similar to DDC, although once again they have changed how life/bomb pieces are dealt out. after each 'chapter' (basically wherever a checkpoint is in PointDevice mode) the game ranks you based on how many bullets you grazed multiplied by the % of enemies you killed, and if you got enough points you get a bomb piece in PointDevice mode, or a life piece in Legacy mode. this is probably my least favourite method of the ones that have been thrown around, since its really hard to organically tell when youve grazed enough, and during stages its hard to tell when a chapter will end. it incentivizes you to not kill enemies since you want more bullets to be onscreen so you can graze more, but at the same time if you miss killing an enemy and it goes off-screen then your chapter score goes down making the extra grazing still not add up, its a lose/lose either way.

for playable characters, we got Reimu and Marisa of course, Sanae is back (yay!), and Reisen appears as a playable character for the first time outside PoFV. Reimu and Marisa play exactly the same as their B movesets in DDC, so nothing new there. Sanae uses her two movesets from UFO but stapled together, so she shoots frogs unfocused and snakes while focused, which is maybe a bit lazy but i liked both of those weapons so im totally fine with it. Reisen has a strange weapon that has random angle spread shots unfocused, and heavy piercing vertical shots when focused. her most interesting feature though is her bomb, which gives you brief invincibility on activation, and then applies 3 shields to Reisen that block a death, although offer next to no i-frames. her bomb is probably really good in PointDevice mode, but i only had the patience to try that mode once and i went with Sanae. clearing PointDevice mode counts as a 1cc, even if its pretty much impossible to lose unless you just give up, but i dont think i care to try for a win in legacy mode. if you're curious. my retry total on my PointDevice run stacked up to 547 lol.

for the new characters, my favourite addition is probably Clownpiece. more faeries are always good, and Clownpiece is a pretty interesting one since she's a Hell Fairy, whatever that means. for some reason shes themed after the USA, wearing a star-spangled jumpsuit and featuring the stars and stripes in her spell cards, and holding an eternally burning torch similar to the statue of liberty. the concept of the fairy of hell being an American clown who drives people insane is somehow kinda fitting lmao, even if its completely absurd.

besides Clownpiece, i can't say i really cared for the other characters. the rabbits and lunarians weren't very interesting to me in Imperishable Night and they still really aren't now. Doremy is intriguing, being a ruler of the Dream World, but her stage and fight really didn't sell me on the concept of it being a dream. if you took the dialogue out i dont think anyone would assume the level was supposed to be a dream reality instead of just, flying through real outer space to reach the moon.

so that was LoLK. definitely my least favourite one so far, and by a pretty wide margin. i like what ZUN was trying to do here, and maybe with better tuning PointDevice mode couldve been a really fun new way to play the game, but it just made the game a slog of trying nigh-impossible spellcards over and over again until you get it right. i might come back and try a 1cc on Legacy Mode, but having experienced how insane the lategame gets im not exactly chomping at the bit to go back for another round. this game almost feels like karmic punishment after i got a little too comfortable with the last 3 games. if theres one good thing about PointDevice mode, at least its that your victory is inevitable, so i can stop playing.

i hate for the tone of this review to be so negative, but i just did not have a good time with this one. i wanna do something to lighten the mood though, so heres a silly doodle of clownpiece i made in ms paint :P

- a function to save outfits. currently u can save items in favourites and arrange them but its a bit clunky and it would be nice to be able to do it in one press

- a better/more detailed search function. this is like the number 1 complaint people have abt the game rn i think 😅 it wld be rlly nice 2 be able 2 search by pattern, colour etc

- a way to take selfies together! one of the biggest things i want is just to be able to take photos with my friends' muses but theres no way to do that rn unless u somehow get lucky and they show up in your world ;_;

- some sort of challenge mode. either with limited items, a timer, special caveats, or anything else to add a little twist? maybe even player designed challenges where they provide the items and pick rules from a list???

- more photo options in general. the drone camera + photo egg can feel a bit limited sometimes in terms of staging, poses etc.. it wld be rlly nice to be able to set more of a scene to rlly show off your looks 😘🤳

- bags and purses!!! 👛👜🎒 sooo many looks feel incomplete without a purse or a handbag or even a cute little backpack

-more jewelry types wld be soooo nice. i get there might be implementation problems with this + the bags but even if i cld just add a little bracelet or a necklace it wld add a lot of extra variety 💍

- this one is probably impossible since i assume u wld have 2 remake all the clothes but more body types wld be rlly nice. the height options r nice and there is a little variety between choices but theyre mostly all the same conventional skinny look which is a bit boring. people deserve 2 be able 2 dress up muses that look like them!

So!! Clothes!! This will include a whole lotta headcannons

3rd Life, it takes place in the fall and into early winter in a place that experiences both of those seasons not quite vividly but definetly notiecably. So at the start the clothes aren't light persay, but they do have easily removable layers because it would still be warm enough rhat physical labour would leave you hot. And as you move further on the pants start getting heavier, nights spent mending holes and adding linings. Wool jackets pieced together, the works. By the end everything is thick but mobile, and requires under layers. This one i have like no thoughts on really unless we want to get into individuals but that feels excessive for my first inbox ramble to you.

Last life is winter, very early spring. Early spring as in the snow is melting and wet and iced over and dirty and disgusting. The clothes are heavy, and everyone is wearing gloves. Everything is furlined and made of wool (good water proofing which in the snow is a neccessity). People like Scar wear spikes on their shoes for grip (if you dont live in a snowy enviorment, look it up, its a thing, and theyre sick af), j name scar because mountains are colder, are probably always snowing, and damn icy. Well trodden paths are probably slick as all hell as well, so in general boots are built tall, thick, and with traction. Hoods and hats become a neccessity against the wind, but with the hoods already being easy to grab and choke someone with nobody dared risk a scarf to wear. Last life was ruthless. Clothes may be bulky but handholds and easy grips are minimized, too thick to easily grab. Everythings tucked in or tapers at the end. This is also generally where people started wearing their hair either aggresively short or long enough to be pulled up tight and secure easily. The comforts of their other servers may have deluded them into thinking things like this couldnt be used against them in 3rd life, but those beliefs dont last long.

Now I don't have many thoughts on double life, but, this is spring into summer. The begginning is wet and muddy and the shoes are boots that reflect this start. They initially namelt wore wool sweaters (mild water proofing, few hand holds, spring can be quite chilly) but as summer rolled in they swapped to tshirts jn a much lighter material. Pants likely ended up being made of the same material. Some people prioritized camoflauge wgere they could in this series as well.

Limited life is summer back into fall and people have begun to grow comfortable in these games. Hair and hand holds might not be present again, but clothes are loose, and like the clockers, fashion statements are begginning to take priority with bright flashy colors and pieces of clothes that are mildly impractical (unbuttoned shirts are not convienent for chasing someone down). This is a reflection of how they were more careless when it came to dying.

Now much unlike the life series your clothing does not inhibit your success on empires or hermitcraft nearly as much. Where you have to think about the practicallity and how others can ise clothes against you in the life series, as long as you can move and do in your outfit of choice on either hc or esmp you can wear it.

In hermitcraft theres a large variety in outfits. Some hermirts wearing big dresses and extravagent outfits that have got to make life some level harder. But you'll also just see a guy in cargo shorts and a branded tshirt. It reflects the freedom of safety. Now they generally do take into account where thwyre living when outside, their bases would be well insulated and climate controlled meaning inside it is a reasonable temperature to wear whatwver they want.

Empires s1 should probably be a second ask but whatever. I'll just keep it to the kingdoms i know

Rivendell is cold, wet, and constantly snowy. Mountain life, man. Wool as an export makes sense, because again, ir's warm, can be used to make clothes, and is mostly waterproof. And if i know sheep they can be fairly resilient and at this point they also likely can climate control their barns to an extent. So the people of rivendell tend to wear one thick outerlayer and a thinner (probably imported) base layer for aesthetics. The royalty (scott) tend to wear several outer layer sweaters, a cloak (typically short) damn thick pants, and medium boots. The several layers are due to the fact that travel is fast, and diplomatic issues come up and are dealt with in the same day so he often needs to be prepared to handle any given climate. The more layers he removes in his hoise when you visit him as someone of another empire shows how much he respects and trudts you (more=more less=less). Rivendell exporting wool, a material widely used will mean their fashion likely influences several kingdoms, but due to how harsh their climate is it is rare fashion is noticeably impacted by others, that goes far more into language and cuisine. (attached below is an example of scott)

Pearls empire (gilded hycanthia i believe) is a much more mild climate as it is the food/farming empire. The traditional clothing is far less present than it used to be as it both saw a huve influx of immigrants from several other empires within "recent" memories, is an export everyone relies on so takes influence from nearlt every empire as their climate allows it far easier, and rheir culture. This is the empire where tou will see the leather accessories of grimlands paired with the light dresses of katherines empire on the same person and no one is confused. But traditional clothing is still extremely present in bith rhe royalty and at festivals (a huve part of their culture). The traditional fem garb included what i believe is a hoop skirt, a plain or striped dress (typically longsleeved) over it, and then a second dress (typically tanktop) over that that could be tied up into a very large pocket in the belt that kept everything together. The second layer came in handy with both harvesting and planting. The layers were lights and the skirts could be utilized to create a breeze around your legs and cool you down on hot days. The masc clothing utilized knee length trousers and loose shirts. They also had a sash belt that acted similarly to the 2nd skirt of the fem counterpart. (Attsched below is a couple dancing at a festival, the lady on the left is in entirrly traditional clothed, where as the lady on the right is acknowledging her familys heritage in the grimlands through no longsleeves and leather gloves)

The grimlands climate has very little to do with their clothes. Most of this empire is accessible without ever going outside and the work they do is hot. So leather is a neccessarry part of their fashion and while their smocjs arent apart of their fashion, theyre always heavily personalized. Tall leather gloves, goggles, tight clothing that is generall fire resistant (leather pants become super popular every other generation or so) are all grimlands staples. Theres very little influence on workdays from other empires, but sometimes on off days, you'll see outside influence run rampant. Thisll be on days such as holidays that are not nearly as serious a buisness as in pearls empire.

He gets all the supplies, he cuts the tree limbs that might fall from the winds, etc. in fact, i feel like the hurricane would be just about to start, itd already be raining because its close, and everyone else would have to drag him inside because he is still out there. surprisingly reckless. not really. he would be like those people who say theyll be fine and not prepare but he prepares. he is one of the few people who would not get blown away by the winds no matter how strong. he goes out during the eye when its calm for a hot second and starts cleaning up outside and stuff. very silly. he built the generator for if they lose power. it automatically kicks on, so he doesn't have to turn it on himself, and also no one starts having a breakdown because theyre scared.

Ranboo is the one to organize all the supplies. Tubbo gets the supplies, Ranboo organizes. They invite everyone over to have a "hurricane sleepover" [my grandma usually comes and stays with us because her house is Not stable enough] which usually include Tommy, Wilbur, Phil, Techno, and Niki. sometimes some of em dont come. Tommy always comes. Tommy practically lives with the two. Ranboo stays inside the whole time. they watch anxiously from the window during the eye. Ranboo makes hot chocolate and snacks and makes sure they all have plenty of games to play during the storm.

Tommy makes sure the house is clean. because Ranboo is too busy counting and recounting and organizing supplies to be worried about the rooms. she makes sure they all have bags put together just in case they need to evacuate. every hurricane, she makes a new blanket for the "hurricane sleepover." Tommy goes out on the porch during the eye but not much farther. She mostly hangs out with Michael and makes sure her pets are okay. She also makes sure all the doors and windows are closed. An arduous task in the mansion, but at least she gets to snoop around! she also makes sure all the devices are charged.

All three help set up the living room as the hangout and sleeping spot where everyone remains until the hurricane is over and its safe to go home and everything.

perhaps there was no threat, to begin with. maybe in the classic era (seeing as basically everything was eggy at that point) they were mostly just in search of adventure. amy goes to westside for the fun of it and finds tails. while shes not quite like sonic, she's still brave and has a strong sense of justice, so would probably protect tails. they hear about a floating island, so amy, having enjoyed going to little planet and back, decides theyre going to explore the island. knuckles doesnt like that and assumes theyre stealing the master emerald. cue sonic 3 & knuckles with our special guest, amy rose.

i dont have extensive knowledge of the classic era btw, ive only played sonic 1-3 + cd, sonic the fighters and sonic drift 2. i KNOW about the original chaotix, fang, bean and bark etc. but i dont know enough. if anyone wants to contribute, be my guest

for sa1, maybe chaos is the first real threat they ever face. i havent played much so far (im 25% through sonic's story, 20% tails and i havent unlocked anyone else (i was doomed from the moment i found the chao garden)) so i dont entirely know the story, seeing as it isnt like sa2 where everyone already knows every aspect of the game from people talking about it, but from what i do know, thered have to be plenty of differences there, too: obviously with no robotnik, the course of basically every sonic game changes.

maybe starline would be the villain? seeing as he isnt blinded by 'ohh egg... egg egg...' he might actually be a competent villain (and also. its an au. you can make things up if you want) and be a good foe. i could sort of imagine him getting along well enough with chaos to work with them but annoying them enough to keep it interesting.

obviously, sa2's a big one; this is where we finally meet the titular character. he and shadow could work together, maybe with starline, maybe without. starline might be a fan of gerald's work, for example, though not to the same extent as his love for ivo in idw. perhaps they'd like his theatric nature, or perhaps theyd laugh behind his back.

rouge could have basically the same role - the ultimate lifeform AND a hedgehog that can reach unparalleled speeds probably wouldn't change much to her being there.

i have more to think about, like what's up with gamma and omega? how is team dark different with a fourth member? is shadow sweeter and sonic meaner, or are they still the same?

i want to start an au where sonic was another experiment on the ark (similar backstory to stc) and was friends with shadow. shadow found him one day while being a general nuisance child and teleporting about, accidentally revealing the 'top secret' experiment to another.

knuckles had to realise he was tricked on his own, amy had to save LP, instead of metal we have rusty (sorry metal) seeing as she sort of serves the same purpose as sonic (the hero). SHE had to stop tails from being bullied. maybe because she wasnt cool and short-tempered like sonic she got bullied too and instead taught tails how to cope with it. or maybe she killed them with her hammer <3

maybe shadow isnt so upset seeing as he has someone to share his grief with. maybe sonic is scared of tails because he reminds him too much of dr kintobor. maybe maria and ovi both died and sonic and shadow REALLY share the grief. who's the big threat? another robotnik? sonic and shadow themselves, driven mad with revenge and altered memories?
